Mrs. Gibbs Class Rules

1)             Wear ID's

2)             Follow Dress Code

3)             Be on Time

4)             Be Prepared-No Late Work Accepted

5)             Be Respectful of me, each other, of  all things.

6)             Pay attention and participate the entire period.

7)              Put your phone, music players, other classwork, and all other distractions away.

8)             Eat and drink outside of the room and outside of class time.

9)             Put your bags and stuff on the left side of the room

10) Throw away your trash.

The “Break Card”- YOU MUST SIGN and RETURN. No Break Card, No Breaks!

You have the following allowances per quarter

1 unexcused tardy break          1 dress code break       1 late assignment break

1 out of class break                  1 cell phone break       

2 excused late break w/pass from teacher                    3 bathroom passes

Students and their parent/guardian are required to read all course information and sign the break card and return to Mrs. Gibbs during the first week of school.

Once you exceed these allowances you will receive the appropriate consequence for each infraction.

CONSEQUENCES

AFTER SCHOOL WORK

You will receive an after-school work for the following infractions

• No planner for hall pass
• Abuse of pass privileges (late with pass more than twice, using bathroom pass over 3 times or not going where pass was intended
• Bringing in food or drink to class (water OK)
• Littering-Leaving trash in my room
• Not bringing required materials to class

SOS

You will be placed on the SOS program for the following infractions

• Being disruptive (talking during instruction, tests or presentations)
• Wasting class time
• Disrespectful to others
• Cheating or plagiarizing
• Lying or giving false information or excuses
• Wearing anything on your head-hats, bandanas, beanies, etc. in my class
• Other violations of class rules

REFERRAL TO ADMINISTRATION

You will be sent to the administration office for the following infractions

• Violation of dress code
• Use of any electronic devices (music players, pagers, cell phones, video games, etc) in my class when not permitted
• Severe disrespect and/or profanity toward the teacher
• Obscenity, vulgarity, or profanity
• Defiance or continuous violations of class rules
• Use of violence, vandalism, or severe disruptions in the class
• Any violation of school/district policy described in the QHHS planner

CITIZENSHIP GRADE

Students who have three infractions during the period of one quarter will receive an “N” for “Needs Improvement” on their citizenship grade.

Students who have five infractions during the period of one quarter will receive a “U” for Unsatisfactory on their citizenship grade.

Students who accumulate a combined total of eight unexcused absences and/or tardies in one quarter will receive a “U” in citizenship.
